I really don’t like how the weapons feel in 4. The BR feels like a single laser shot thing, and the AR is a bit too strong. The enemy AI isn’t bad, it just can’t keep up. Elites are too weak health wise, and they don’t move to cover enough.

I never liked the BR because I always seem to run out of ammo to quickly. I have always loved the AR just because it does a ton of damage and has a big magazine. And I mean yes it is overpowered but that is because it is like the most iconic Halo weapon ever.

Gotta disagree with you there. I give the CE magnum most iconic.

Is it just me? Or does the needler feel very nerfed in h4?

No idea I don't remember using it.
I never really used covenant/forerunner weapons unless I ran out of ammo or found the "destroy everything cannon" as I like to call it.

Halo 1: plasma rifle, halo 2: plasma rifle, halo 3: needler, halo: 4 br, halo 5: sniper, halo reach: dmr. I know this may be offensive to sum but:I have not yet played h3 odst in mcc.

CE: Magnum (only useful weapon most of the time).
H2: Sword
H3: Trip Mine (don’t ask)
ODST: Tac Magnum
Reach: DMR
H4: (4 and Reach gameplay are exactly the same so my answer is the same)
H5: Gunfighter Magnum

My favorite would have to be the needler, it is just so fun to see things go boom, plus they're pretty effective in halo 2 for example when you need to kill a brute. Cheers
